Synagogue Portraits
This portfolio showcases a sampling of portraits created at New Jersey and New York synagogues/temples. There is always a mix of images from a temple portrait session. Some are religiously oriented, like torah reading and tallit details, while others are simpler portraits in the sanctuary, perhaps posing in the pews or incorporating a design element of the synagogue. There is often an opportunity to make some portraits of the bar/bat mitzvah boy or girl and the family outdoors. Even if the area surrounding the synagogue building doesn’t seem particularly scenic, we can often create something beautiful and meaningful just outside the temple doors. I always strive to capture genuine, candid moments that occur between the posed pictures.
